The role of the Advisory Committees is exceedingly important in the peer review process. The advisory committees evaluate individual R&D proposals received from the project investigators and make appropriate recommendation for funding or otherwise. Identification of priority areas of R&D requiring attention and preparation of state-of-the-art reports and other such reports which will give a review of the status of R&D and technology development in the specific area are done through the advisory committees.
Each Scheme / Program is guided by an Advisory Committee. These committees comprise of eminent scientists and technologists in various fields of science and engineering.
